BACKGROUND

Experience

Cassandra’s background and experience engaging in our community show her commitment to children. 

Experience as an Educator 

  • Former elementary & middle school mathematics teacher
  • Former CFB elementary mathematics specialist
  • M.Ed. in K-12 school administration with a specialization in conflict resolution
  • Adjunct Lecturer at Southern Methodist University, teaching future math teachers and Principals
  • Research Project manager for STEM education research projects 
 

Passion for Community Engagement 

  • serving the Janie Stark Elementary PTA as a science fair and family STEM night coordinator, Vice President of Ways and Means and Vice President of Membership 
  • serving on the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas STEM Advisory Committee
  • serving as a troop cookie manager for a local girl scout troop
  • serving on the CFB ISD District Improvement Committee as the secretary
  • serving on the Janie Stark Elementary Campus Improvement Committee as a parent
 

Believes in CFB

  • resident for 4 years, after moving to the district because of the quality of the schools
  • parent of two elementary children in CFB schools
  • attends and engages in school and community functions 
  • connects the community and the school together
